Nomeações da 4ª edição dos Prémios Curtas

Os Prémios Curtas são uma premiação anual dedicada a distinguir o melhor do cinema português em formato de curta-metragem, abrangendo todos os géneros.
O objetivo é  promover e valorizar o trabalho de realizadores e criativos, assim como de todas as equipas técnicas e elencos.

Neste evento, serão divulgados os nomeados aos prémios da 4ª Edição e serão projetas as Curtas da 3ª edição:

Era Uma Vez no Apocalipse, realizado por Tiago Pimentel

Cinco Prémios Curtas na 3ª edição: Melhor Ator, Melhor Ator Secundário, Melhor Caracterização, Melhor Direção Artística e Melhores Efeitos Visuais.

Sinopse: No rescaldo de uma guerra nuclear, o planeta sobrevive debaixo de um  severo arrefecimento global e de inúmeros regimes totalitários que utilizam a falta de recursos e informação contra as suas populações. Em Portugal, quando Ernesto é visitado por um temido oficial do Governo, um contra-relógio agonizante pulsa directamente do rosto das personagens para o nosso peito.

Umbral, realizado por Miguel Andrade

Prémio de Melhor Curta de Ficção na 3ª edição dos Prémios Curtas.

Sinopse: De acordo com Sigmund Freud: “Emoções não expressadas nunca morrem. São enterradas vivas e retornam mais tarde de formas mais terríveis”. Baseando os seus alicerces na fragilidade humana que advém do trauma, “Umbral” ilustra esta premissa de uma forma direta e visceral, materializando o dilema moral sobre a existência de causa-efeito entre o trauma e a prática do crime.

O Procedimento, realizado por Chico Noras

Prémio de Melhor Atriz na 3ª edição dos Prémios Curtas.

Sinopse: Numa realidade não muito distante, a morte assistida é procedimento moralmente aceite, introduzido com naturalidade no nosso dia-a-dia. Quando a lógica hipercapitalista é a única moral, o que fazer quando uma pessoa deixa de produzir? Bem, se não se fatura, mais vale morrer. Maria Eugénia, reformada, tem a sua morte agendada há vários anos. Mas será que se preparou devidamente para o procedimento?

The Curtas Awards are an annual event dedicated to recognizing the best of Portuguese short-form cinema, encompassing all genres.
Its aim is to promote and highlight the work of directors and creative professionals, as well as the technical crews and casts involved.

At this event, the nominees for the 4th Edition of the awards will be announced, and the short films from the 3rd Edition will be screened:

Era Uma Vez no Apocalipse, directed by Tiago Pimentel

Winner of five Curtas Awards at the 3rd Edition: Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Makeup, Best Art Direction, and Best Visual Effects.

Synopsis: In the aftermath of a nuclear war, the planet survives under severe global cooling and numerous totalitarian regimes that use the scarcity of resources and information against their populations. In Portugal, when Ernesto is visited by a feared Government official, a suffocating countdown pulses directly from the characters’ faces into our own chests.

Umbral, directed by Miguel Andrade

Winner of Best Fiction Short Film at the 3rd Edition of the Curtas Awards.

Synopsis: According to Sigmund Freud, “Unexpressed emotions never die. They are buried alive and return later in more terrible ways.” Grounded in the human fragility that stems from trauma, Umbral illustrates this premise in a direct and visceral way, materializing the moral dilemma surrounding the existence of a cause-and-effect relationship between trauma and the commission of crime.

O Procedimento, directed by Chico Noras

Winner of Best Actress at the 3rd Edition of the Curtas Awards.

Synopsis: In a not-so-distant reality, assisted dying has become a morally accepted procedure, naturally integrated into everyday life. When hyper-capitalist logic becomes the only moral framework, what happens when a person stops producing? Well, if you don’t generate profit, you might as well die. Maria Eugénia, now retired, has had her death scheduled for several years. But has she truly prepared herself for the procedure?
